Living With the Motoz Tractionator Rallz

I’ve run both the 150/70/18 and 140/80/18 Motoz Tractionator Rallz rear tyres on my

Yamaha T7, and we’ve also used them across the Rumbling Adventures fleet on both T7s and Husqvarna 701s. These tyres have seen plenty of gravel, mud, rocky climbs, long highway stretches, and everything in between.

The first one I tried was the 150. Straight away I was impressed with the off road grip. Loose gravel, hardpack, rough backcountry roads, the tyre just hooks up and keeps driving forward. The only downside was the road noise. At highway speed they howl pretty loudly, even with earplugs in.

I later switched to the 140 mainly because it was cheaper and I wanted to see if it changed the road noise. It was slightly quieter, but performance wise it felt almost identical to the 150.

What really stood out to me was how predictable the tyre feels when riding aggressively on gravel roads. You can back the bike into corners and let it drift, but instead of wanting to keep sliding wider, the tyre seems to find traction again and pull itself back into line. That gives a lot of confidence when you’re riding fast on loose surfaces.

We normally run around 24 psi in the rear, which has worked well for the mix of gravel roads, backcountry tracks, and sealed sections we ride regularly.

We are consistently getting around 4000 to 5000 km out of a rear, which I’m happy with considering the terrain and punishment these tyres go through.

Another big plus was how easy they were to fit and balance compared to some other adventure tyres. That makes a difference when you’re changing tyres regularly or fitting them yourself in the workshop.

On sealed roads they performed well overall, although like most aggressive adventure tyres, you still need to respect them in the wet and ride accordingly.

Will I run them again? Absolutely. For the type of riding we do, the Rallz has proven itself time and time again.
